Hi @MissVB,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy Photo 6255 is printing 17 copies instead of just 1. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the print settings on your device
– Before printing, open the Print dialog and confirm that “Number of copies” is set to 1.
– Also ensure “Collate” or “Multiple pages per sheet” isn’t forcing extra copies.

Clear any stuck print jobs
– Go to your computer’s print queue and cancel all pending jobs.
– Restart the computer and the printer, then try printing a fresh document.

Make sure “Reprint” or “Print multiple” features aren’t enabled
– On the printer’s display, check Copy/Photo menus to ensure no repeat-print setting is active.
– Disable “Reprint” photo options if they were recently used.

Update or reinstall the HP Smart app / printer driver
– Outdated drivers can cause duplication loops.
– Reinstalling ensures the print commands sent match your selected settings.

Try printing from a different device
– This helps confirm if the issue is coming from one specific device or app.
– If another device prints correctly, reset the print settings on the original device.

Reset the printer
– With the printer on, unplug the power cable from the back and from the wall.
– Wait 60 seconds, plug it back in, let it boot up, and try again.

I hope this helps.
