Hp DeskJet 4155e Will not print. It makes noises like it’s printing but no ink makes it on the page.

@Dwreck1, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If your HP DeskJet 4155e makes printing noises but nothing appears on the page, it’s likely related to ink delivery or cartridge issues. Let’s walk through some steps to resolve this:

Check Ink Levels

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC.
  • Select your printer and check the estimated ink levels.
  • If any cartridge is low or empty, replace it.

HP Smart

Inspect Ink Cartridges

  • Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove both cartridges and inspect for:
    • Protective tape still on the cartridge (must be removed).
    • Clogged or dried nozzles.
    • Ink buildup or debris.

Clean the copper-colored contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • Open HP Smart app > Printer Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
  • This will attempt to unclog any dried ink and restore flow.

Print a Test Page

  • From the printer control panel or HP Smart app, print a Test Page or Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
  • Check if any ink appears. If not, proceed to the next step.

Update Printer Firmware

Reset the Printer

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
