My Printer Cartridge is getting jammed constantly; it is continuously performing self-maintenance. The print is so far beyond the right margin that it is cutting off items. I can fix this by printing at 94%, but this is not a long-term solution.

Thank you

@CampHudsonPines, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
Let's work together to resolve the issues you're experiencing with your HP OfficeJet 6962 All-in-One Printer.

Issue 1: Printing Beyond the Right Margin

If your printer is cutting off content on the right side, it’s likely a page scaling or margin setting issue. Here's how to fix it:

Step-by-Step Fix:

Check Page Setup in Application:

  • In the app you're printing from (e.g., Word, PDF viewer), go to File > Print > Page Setup.
  • Ensure margins are set to Normal or Custom with at least 0.25" on all sides.

Adjust Printer Settings:

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your OfficeJet 6962 > Printing Preferences.
  • Under Paper/Quality, ensure the correct paper size (e.g., A4 or Letter) is selected.
  • Under Advanced, check that Scaling is set to 100% or Fit to Page.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download or open the HP Smart App. HP Smart
  • Try printing from the app to see if the issue persists. It often handles margins better.

Issue 2: Cartridge Jamming & Constant Self-Maintenance

This may be due to cartridge alignment issues, dirty contacts, or firmware bugs.

Steps to Resolve:

Power Reset:

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reinsert cartridges firmly.
  • Make sure no packaging material or tape is left on the cartridges.
  • Clean Cartridge contacts

Update Firmware:

Run Printer Maintenance Tools:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance.
  • Run Clean Printhead and Align Printer.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
