Hi @Jazzwise,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP Envy 6430e printer is displaying an error code with the internet light flashing and the "E" and "4" on the screen. Here's what you can try to resolve this issue.

Check for Error Code Meaning:

  • "E" and "4" usually indicate a specific issue with the printer's connection or functionality. According to HP error codes, this can be linked to network connectivity issues or a problem with the printer's setup. The number 4 often indicates a network or Wi-Fi connection error.

Check the Internet/Network Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi. If the printer was previously connected to the internet or a Wi-Fi network, it might have lost connection.
    • Restart your router and printer to refresh the network connection.
    • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network by following the steps:
      • Press the Wireless button on the printer (if it has one) or use the printer’s control panel to access Wi-Fi settings.
      • Select your network and enter the Wi-Fi password to reconnect.

Reset the Printer’s Network Settings:

  • Restore factory network settings if the above steps don't work:
    • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 5-10 seconds to reset the network settings.
    • After resetting, try to reconnect the printer to your network.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure the printer’s firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app on your phone or computer, or by visiting the HP Support website and searching for your printer model to check for firmware updates.

Check for HP Smart App Setup:

  • If you are using the HP Smart app to manage the printer, ensure it is correctly set up and the printer is added to your account.
  • Open the HP Smart app and make sure the printer appears as connected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
