Hi @IanMR,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the information light and ink levels are flashing on your HP DeskJet 2710e, it usually indicates a problem related to the ink system.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's ink cartridge access door.
  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly seated in their slots. Press down on each cartridge to make sure they are securely in place.
  • Check for any protective tape or packing materials that might still be on the cartridges or printhead and remove them if present.

Inspect Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are not empty or low. If they are low or empty, replace them with new ones.

Clean the Ink Cartridges and Contacts:

  • Gently remove the ink cartridges.
  • Using a lint-free cloth, clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer where the cartridges sit. Be careful not to touch the nozzles.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Remove any stuck paper carefully.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the issue persists.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Sometimes updating the printer's firmware can resolve issues. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
