Office Jet Pro 7740

My Office Jet Pro 7740 is always running out of black ink. I will check the status before I print it will have 700 pages left. After printing 200 copies it will tell me to replace black ink. What is going on? I can not afford to be replacing ink all the time.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridge?

Have you subscribed or enrolled for Instant ink program?

Could you please help me with the operating system of your computer.

Keep me posted.

Cheers:)

I do use genuine HP ink. I am not enrolled in the instant ink program. My operating system is Windows 7 Home premium. Even when I replaced all my colored ink at the same time each of them had a different level of estimated ink.

Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridge?

Are you printing in Best mode or Draft mode?

And try printing in draft mode.
