HP Deskjet 3940 Color Inkjet Printer

My visiting son used my printer and after he left I tried to print something and it only prints every 5th or 6th line.  When I use the copy  setting it works fine.  What could he had changed .  I have reset the printer.

I do not think your son had anything to do with the problem other than using up a lot of ink.

If your Windows printer is skipping lines, the most likely culprits are low ink levels, misaligned print heads, incorrect paper type settings, or potentially a clogged print head, which can all lead to uneven ink distribution and skipped lines on your printouts; check your ink levels, run a print head cleaning cycle, and ensure you're using the correct paper type for your printer settings
