Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.
Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
- Make sure the ink cartridges are correctly installed and seated.
- Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any damage.
- Reinsert the cartridges and ensure they click into place.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Carefully inspect the printer for any paper jams.
- Remove any stuck paper, making sure there are no scraps left inside.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
