HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot get the printer to get past the very 1st screen when powered on. The screen that has the blue loading bar abd the 7 circles under it. It usually loads each blue circle as the blue line gets from 1 side to the other, but it now does nothing at all once the blue line gets all the way to the right, and it just stays there and no buttons or anything else work on it. Also, the ONLY way to turn it on or off is to unplug it and then plug it back in. then this just happens again.

I just want to know if it is just time for a new printer or is there a way that I can get past this screen somehow, so that I can troubleshoot and/or ensure firmware and whatever drivers are needed, are up to date?

Any help or advice is appreciated!!!

Thank you,

@TL2379, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Oof, that sounds like the printer is stuck in a boot loop! 😩

Try These Steps Before Giving Up:

Perform a Hard Reset

Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it's on.

Wait 60 seconds.

Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.

Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Firmware Reinstallation (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

If the printer is stuck due to a failed update, you might be able to reload the firmware via USB.

Download the latest firmware from HP’s website.

Connect the printer to a PC via USB and run the firmware updater.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Let me know how it goes.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
