@jdthirteen, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer is giving error messages and won't print, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Check for Error Messages

Make sure to resolve any error messages displayed on your printer control panel by following the on-screen instructions.

Check Printer Connections

Ensure the printer is correctly connected to your computer:

  • If connected via USB: Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
  • If connected wirelessly: Make sure the wireless connection is working properly.

Ensure the Printer is Not Paused or Offline

Verify the printer is active:

  1. Open the Settings menu on your Windows 11 computer.
  2. Navigate to Devices > Printers & scanners.
  3. Select your HP ENVY 5660 printer.
  4. Ensure there is no check mark next to Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline. If there are check marks, remove them and try printing again.

Set the Printer as Default

Ensure your HP ENVY 5660 is set as the default printer:

  1. Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your HP ENVY 5660 printer.
  3. Click on Manage, then select Set as default.

Restart the Print Spooler

Restart the print spooler service:

  1. Open Settings menu and navigate to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools.
  2. Double-click Services.
  3. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
