HP DeskJet 4100

My printer is disconnected from the Internet and cannot connect. Wi-Fi wireless. The Wi-Fi indicator flashes, the information button resets. Also shows 0! and everything flashes on the screen.

@Iris2025, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer connection!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It looks like your HP DeskJet 4100 is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Reset the Printer's Network Settings

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) and the Cancel button (🛑) together for 5 seconds.
  2. The printer will restart, and the Wi-Fi light will start blinking—indicating it's in Setup Mode.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Using HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  2. Open the app and select Set up a new printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Using WPS (If Your Router Supports It)

  1. Press and hold the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router for a few seconds.
  2. On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button (📶) for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking.
  3. Wait for the connection to establish—this may take up to 2 minutes.

Check for Errors

  • If the Wi-Fi indicator keeps flashing, the connection failed—try restarting both the printer and the router.
  • If you see "0!" flashing, it could indicate a paper jam or low ink—check the paper tray and ink levels.

If the issue persists, let me know what errors are showing, and I’ll help further! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello. Thank you for your help, I connected the printer to Wi-Fi. But now there is another problem - E0!

I go to my account, and it says that the cartridges are not registered with the NP service. But I have a subscription, and I received cartridges by mail and recently I changed one black one.

How do I register my installed cartridges or order new ones? But I don't know how to order new ones, because new ones come to me by mail from the NP service.

@Iris2025, Regarding the E0! error and the message about your cartridges not being registered with the NP service, let’s get this sorted out.

Just to clarify a few things before we proceed:

When you log into your HP Instant Ink account, do you see any specific messages about your subscription status (e.g., "cartridges not detected," "account on hold," etc.)?

Did you receive an email or notification recently about an issue with your Instant Ink service, such as a payment update or a shipping delay?

Are the replacement cartridges you installed labeled as Instant Ink Ready? They should have a special label indicating they are part of your subscription.

Once you share these details, I’ll guide you on registering the cartridges or requesting a new set if needed. 😊

Looking forward to your reply!
