Product: HP Office Jet Pro 8720

I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8720 printer.  I just changed out the black ink cartridge, but the printer is telling me  
"There is a problem with the supply system.  Try replacing the affected cartridge with a different non-empty cartridge.  If message reappears contract HP.

@Robertlcannon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Use the old black ink cartridge to check if the error persists. By this we can conclude if the new black ink cartridge is defective.

Perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve this issue - Resolving 'Ink System Failure', 'System Supply Problem' Errors

If the error persists, this could be a hardware issue with the printhead of the printer. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
