Hi @HEMANT44,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how concerning it is to see ink leaking from the bottom of your HP Smart Tank 670 All-in-One Printer, especially when it's paired with a printhead error on the display. Ink spills can be messy and alarming, and printhead issues can halt your productivity, but we’re here to help you through this.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for Ink Leakage and Printhead Errors

1. Handle the Ink Leakage Safely

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it immediately.
  • Place the printer on a flat, protected surface (use paper towels or cloth underneath).
  • Gently wipe any visible ink from the bottom using a lint-free cloth.
  • Do not tilt the printer excessively this can worsen internal ink pooling.

2. Check the Printhead Installation

HP Smart Tank printers can show errors if the printheads are not seated correctly or if ink has contaminated the contacts.

Follow this official guide:
👉 Printhead errors on HP Smart Tank 670, 720, 750, or 790 printers | HP® Support

Key steps include:

  • Open the ink access door and wait for the carriage to stop.
  • Press the blue button to open the printhead cover.
  • Remove the affected printhead carefully by its sides to avoid further leakage.
  • Check for:
    • Removed protective tape
    • Clean copper contacts (do not touch them)
    • No ink residue on the printhead slot
  • Reinsert the printhead until it clicks into place.
  • Close the printhead cover and ink access door.

3. Identify the Error Code

Your printer may show a blinking icon or an error code like E3, E4, or printhead icons. You can decode these using this guide:
👉 HP Smart Tank 670, 720, 750, 790 Printers - Blinking lights and error codes | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
