Hi @Danmyr1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is printing too dark, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Check Toner/Ink Levels: Ensure that your printer has sufficient ink or toner. Low levels can affect print quality.
  • Check Printer Settings: Review the printer settings on your computer or the printer itself. Look for options related to print quality, brightness, contrast, and color density. Adjust these settings as needed to see if it improves the print quality.
  • Calibrate Printer: Some HP printers have a calibration or alignment feature that helps ensure accurate colors and print quality. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform calibration.
  • Clean Printer Heads: Over time, printer heads can become clogged or dirty, affecting print quality. Many HP printers have a utility for cleaning the printer heads. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to clean the printer heads.
  • Use Correct Paper Type: Make sure you're using the appropriate type of paper for your printer. Different paper types can affect print quality and color accuracy.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Check Printer Hardware: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with your printer.

By going through these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue of your HP printer printing too dark.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
