My HP OfficeJetPro 8610 says "printer failure" and that i should **bleep**.  I am unable to do anything else as no button will remove that screen and I can not print.

Something got erased in your post so I do not know exactly what the problem is.

Here is a general solution for 8600 series "printer failure"

You may need to do a factory reset
