HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

My inkjet (hp8610) shows there is a problem with ink or printer.  I am unable to change the touchscreen.  I've turn on and off and nothing helps.

@Barb549, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the ink cartridges

  • Check the ink cartridges to see if they are properly installed.
  • Remove the cartridges, clean their contacts with a lint-free cloth, and reinsert them.
  • Make sure that the ink cartridges are not empty. If even one is low, replace it with a new one.

Reset the Printer

  • Let's perform a soft reset by unplugging the power cord from the power supply as well as the back of the computer and waiting for 1 minute.
  • If that doesn't work, then perform a hard reset by holding the power button for 15seconds while the printer is off.

Check Printer Queue

  • Try clearing the print queue from your printer and make sure there are no pending prints.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Always remember to update your firmware to the latest version. You can do this by downloading it from the HP Support website. As the firmware helps remove the bugs and fixes any known issues

Run Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and install the print and scan doctor from the HP website (or just click the hyperlink) and run the software, as this will automatically find and resolve most of the issues and will provide any information about the error the printer is having.
