My printer states that my 951Magenta is not there and I replaced with a brand new hp951 Magenta and it says it is not there.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these steps:

Verify Cartridge Installation

  1. Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the Magenta cartridge and reinsert it firmly into its slot.
  3. Check for obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions in the cartridge slot that would prevent proper installation.
  4. Close the cartridge access door and power on the printer.

Clean the Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Remove the Magenta cartridge.
  3. Clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth.
  4. Clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge is inserted.
  5. Reinsert the cartridge, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and wall outlet, then turn on the printer.

Use a Genuine HP Cartridge

Ensure the cartridge is a genuine HP 951 Magenta ink cartridge. Non-HP and remanufactured cartridges might not be recognized by the printer.
