Do copies come out in color? If yes, then you have a driver issue.
If you are using windows, go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon of your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Click on the advanced tab and check the driver installed. If it read Microsoft IPP or Class driver (or language like that), then you do not have a correct HP driver installed. If the printer appears to be an HP driver then click on the device settings tab, scroll down until you see device type and change to "color"
