Hi @Amar62,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 and are having trouble with both copying and printing from your computer.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Printer Status and Connections

  • Ensure the printer is powered on: Make sure the printer is turned on and there are no error messages on the screen.
  • Check the connection:
    • For wired connection: Make sure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the printer and your computer.
    • For wireless connection: Confirm that the printer is connected to the correct WiFi network. You can print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to check this.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer: Turn it off, wait a minute, and turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer: Sometimes restarting the computer can resolve connection or software issues.

3. Check for Paper Jams or Low Ink

  • Paper jams: Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Open all doors and remove any stuck paper.
  • Check ink levels: Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Check for updates: Go to HP's official website and check if there are any new drivers or firmware updates available for your printer.
  • Reinstall drivers: Uninstall the printer from your computer and then reinstall it using the latest drivers from HP's website or use the HP Smart app to reinstall.

5. Check Printer Settings

  • Set as Default Printer: Ensure the HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 is set as your default printer in the printer settings on your computer.
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Set as Default Printer.
  • Clear print queue: If there are any stuck print jobs in the queue, clear them by right-clicking the printer in Devices and Printers and selecting See what's printing. Cancel any pending print jobs.

6. Perform a Printer Reset

  • Reset the printer: You can reset the printer settings to their factory defaults. This can help resolve any software glitches that may be causing the issue.

7. Check Software (HP Smart) HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • If you're using the HP Smart app, try reinstalling it to ensure the software is not corrupted. Also, make sure it is up to date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
