HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer

Printer will not print.  The orange info light is on and flashing that I have an email.  I have no idea how to access an email message and don't know if this unread email is the reason why my printer won't print.  Please help.

Hi @Elizabeth3132,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4155e is indicating that there might be an issue or message related to email setup or communication. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot.

Check Email Setup: If your printer is connected to the internet and has email capabilities, it might be trying to alert you about an email-related issue. Make sure your printer is properly set up for email printing if you use that feature.

Clear the Message: To clear the message and potentially resolve the issue:

  • Press the 'Info' button on your printer's control panel to see if it displays any specific error message related to the email or another issue.
  • If the email symbol is flashing, try pressing the 'Cancel' or 'Back' button on the printer's control panel to clear any pending alerts.

Printer Status Check:

  • Ensure there are no other error messages or issues displayed on the printer's control panel that could be preventing it from printing.
  • Check if there are any paper jams, low ink, or other physical issues that might need attention.

Restart the Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or device from which you are trying to print. A stable network connection is essential for proper printer operation.

Factory Reset (Optional): If the issue persists and you suspect it might be due to a configuration problem, you can perform a factory reset on your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
