Hi @user_07182024,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP LaserJet M209dwe printer started printing but stopped after only 8 pages out of 39, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Printer Status and Error Messages:
- Look at the printer's display panel or interface to see if there are any error messages or indicators suggesting a problem, such as a paper jam or low toner.
Paper Jam Check:
- Verify that there are no paper jams in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck inside can disrupt the printing process.
Printer Queue Check (for Computer Printing):
- If printing from a computer, check the print queue to ensure that the remaining pages are still queued up and not stuck or paused.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can reset the printer and clear any temporary issues.
Printer Driver and Firmware Update:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve printer performance. Check the HP support website for any available updates.
- Update the printer driver on your computer to the latest version. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing problems.
Check Toner Levels:
- Verify the toner levels in your printer. If the toner is low, replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
Check Printer Settings:
- Make sure the printer settings, such as paper size and type, are correctly configured to match the settings used when sending the print job.
Clear Print Jobs and Retry:
- Cancel the current print job from the computer or printer's control panel and resend it. Sometimes, re-sending the job can resolve intermittent printing issues.
Test Print from Different Sources:
- Try printing a different document or file to see if the issue persists across all print jobs or is specific to one document.
Reset Printing System (Mac):
- On macOS, you can reset the printing system to remove all printers and scanners from your list and add them back. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click on the printer list, and choose "Reset printing system."
If none of the above steps resolve the issue and the printer continues to stop printing prematurely, it may indicate a hardware issue or a more complex problem. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
