Hi @PattyA3185,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer feeds paper normally and sounds like it’s printing, but the page comes out blank, even from your laptop or iPad, here are the recommended steps:
Common Causes
- Protective tape is still on the new cartridges.
- Cartridges not seated properly.
- Air bubbles or a clogged printhead.
- The printer needs alignment or cleaning after cartridge replacement.
Fixes:
1. Check Cartridges
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove both cartridges.
- Make sure the orange protective tape is completely removed from the copper contacts and ink nozzles.
- Reinsert cartridges firmly until they click.
2. Run Printhead Cleaning
- From the printer control panel or HP app:
- HP app > Printer Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Repeat up to 3 times if needed.
3. Align the Printer
- In the HP app:
- Printer Settings > Tools > Align Printer.
- This ensures ink flow and print quality.
4. Check Ink Levels
- In the HP app, verify ink levels.
- If any cartridge is empty or defective, replace it with a genuine HP cartridge.
5. Update Firmware
- Go to Official HP® Support.
- Enter your printer model and install the latest firmware.
6. Test Print
- Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page from the printer menu or HP app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
