Hi @jfjrivng,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is showing an error page and the orange ! light is blinking, even though the printer app shows it as online and ready, it indicates that there is an unresolved issue with the printer. Here's a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you resolve this problem:

1. Inspect Printer for Physical Issues

  1. Open the printer’s paper tray and check for any jammed paper.
  2. Also check inside the printer for any paper that might be stuck.
  3. Ensure there are no foreign objects inside the printer that could be obstructing the internal mechanisms.

2. Reset the Printer:

  1. Turn off the printer.Unplug the printer from the power source.Wait for about 60 seconds.Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

3. Check Printer Cartridges

  1. Open the printer’s cartridge access door.Remove the cartridges and then reinsert them to ensure they are properly seated.Ensure the cartridges are not empty or expired.Check for any protective tape or packaging that might not have been removed.

4. Clear Print Queue

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.Select your printer and click on Open queue.Cancel any pending print jobs.

5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  1. Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest drivers and software.Uninstall the existing printer drivers from your computer.
  3. Restart your computer.Install the latest drivers downloaded from the HP Support website.

6. Run Printer Troubleshooter

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.

7. Check Printer Firmware

  1. Visit the HP Support website and look for any firmware updates for your printer model.Follow the instructions to update the firmware.

8. Restore Printer to Factory Defaults

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup or Settings.Look for an option to Restore Defaults or Reset and follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
