Help my Printer is stuck at "Checking the printer. Please wait..." doesn't continue to turn on, I did try unplugging it and waiting for 60 secs. still nothing is happening my printer is HP Officejet 8022

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I'd be happy to help you! 

 

I understand your printer is stuck at checking the printer screen. 

  • Did you make any changes to your printer?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

Use the following steps to reset the product. Make sure you connect the product directly to a wall outlet and not a surge protector or power strip.

Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Wait at least 15 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button () to turn it on.

 

Update the firmware. 

 

Also, please try updating the printer firmware using this link. Click Here
