@Kim2259, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A blinking Wi-Fi light on your HP DeskJet 2800e typically means the printer is not connected to a wireless network. Let’s walk through the steps to get your printer reconnected:

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

  1. Download HP Smart from the HP Smart App page. HP Smart
  2. Open the app and add your printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Make sure your phone or PC is on the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.
  4. Once connected, the Wi-Fi light should turn solid.

Option 2: Manual Wireless Setup

  1. Reset the printer’s network settings:
    • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks rapidly.
  2. On your computer or mobile device, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the printer’s temporary Wi-Fi (named like HP-Setup-xx-DeskJet).
  3. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.223.1 to access the printer’s setup page.
  4. Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi.
