I had recently got HP 589 all in one printer. I had set it up and printed a pdf as well as a ms document few days back. Now it is not printing MS Document. I m stuck. Can you pls suggest remedy.

I understand your HP 589 All-in-One printer was printing MS Word documents a week ago, but now it’s not. Let’s go through a few steps to identify and resolve the issue.

 

a. Check Printer Status

Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same network (Wi-Fi or USB) as your laptop.

Verify there are no error messages or blinking lights on the printer.

b. Restart Devices

Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, then power it back on.

Restart your computer to refresh the connection.

c. Check Print Queue

Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers → HP 589.

Double-click the printer and make sure there are no stuck print jobs.

If jobs are stuck, cancel all and try printing again.

d. Test with Another File

Try printing a PDF or a plain text file to see if the issue is only with MS Word.

If PDFs print fine but Word documents do not, the issue may be with Word or its print settings.

e. Check MS Word Settings

In Word, go to File → Print → Printer and make sure HP 589 is selected.

Ensure Print to PDF or any other virtual printer is not selected.

Try Copying the content to a new Word document and print from there.

f. Update or Reinstall Drivers

Visit HP Support → Drivers & Downloads for the HP 589.

Download and install the latest full feature driver or HP Smart app.

Reboot your PC and try printing again.

g. Run Windows Printer Troubleshooter

Go to Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional troubleshooters → Printer.

Follow on-screen instructions to detect and fix printer issues automatically.
