Help! My HP Smart-Tank 580/590 printer isn't printing cyan. I've already cleaned the printheads, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, checked the ink levels, and checked for air bubbles in the ink lines. The first print of the day has cyan, but then it stops. What can I do? When I manually clean the printhead, a few tiny blue dots appear, but then they disappear. Can anyone advise me?
Thanks!

Hi @BrunoTorrez1234,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 580/590 printer is not printing cyan consistently. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Check ink supply system
Make sure the cyan ink tank is filled to the recommended level.
Confirm the ink valve is open and ink is flowing properly.
Run printhead cleaning from the printer menu
Use the printer’s built-in “Clean Printhead” option instead of manual cleaning.
Run the cleaning cycle 2–3 times, allowing the printer to rest between cycles.
Perform printhead alignment
From the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app, select “Align Printhead.”
This ensures proper ink distribution and nozzle alignment.
Check for clogged nozzles
Print a diagnostic page to see if cyan is missing or faint.
If cyan is absent, repeat cleaning and alignment until improvement is seen.
Inspect ink tubes and connections
Look for trapped air bubbles or blockages in the cyan ink line.
Gently tap the printer’s side to help move bubbles toward the printhead.
Update printer firmware
Use the HP Smart app or HP website to install the latest firmware.
Updates can improve ink system performance.
Allow rest time after cleaning
After cleaning cycles, let the printer sit for 30 minutes.
This helps ink stabilize in the printhead before printing again.
I hope this helps.
