HP LaserJet Pro 3001dwe. Serial number is: UNB3B12689
The warranty is not locating the serial number for some reason. I just wanted to see if it's under warranty first, but the paper light stays on when trying to print indicating paper needs to be put in printer first before printing even when there is paper in the printer and no paper is jammed/paper alignment tabs are adjusted properly.
Possibly the printer is not sensing paper correctly. Any help please?

@UNB3B12689, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP LaserJet Pro 3001dwe printer requests paper even when the tray is loaded, it could be due to a paper mismatch or settings issue. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Paper Size and Type Settings:

  • Ensure the paper size and type settings on the printer match the paper loaded in the tray.
  • Access the printer's control panel and navigate to the Paper Handling or Tray settings to verify or change these settings.

Reload the Paper:

  • Remove the paper from the tray and reload it.
  • Ensure the paper is properly aligned and not jammed or damaged.

Clear Any Paper Path Obstructions:

  • Open the printer and inspect the paper path for any obstructions. Clear any debris or stuck paper.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset some of the printer's settings.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Visit HP's official website and download the latest drivers for your model.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues. Check for updates on HP's support site for your printer model.
