I work from home and use my printer several times a day.  I replaced the Black ink cartridge this morning with a new-expensive-HP 934XL one.  Now it will not print any black ink!  I have done all the cleaning suggested, and checked the vent on the cartridge etc....still nothing.  Please help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy in black? If you insert your old black ink cartridge, are you able to print in black, though the quality will not be great?

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page :

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon . The Setup menu displays.

  3. Swipe the display to scroll to Reports, and then touch Reports.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report. The printer prints the report.

Let me know how this report looks.

Use an automated tool to align the printhead:

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon . The Setup menu displays.

  3. Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  4. Touch Align Printhead.

  5. After the printer prints the alignment page, touch OK, and then recycle or discard the alignment page.

  6. Try to print.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
