HP DeskJet 2721e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Before I used HPs Insta Ink program. Now I use InkClub own cartridges. I bought for my printer and when I print it says its empty (i know it is fine), but it wont print like it usually did. Now it only prints test pages and wifi. The HP Print and Scan  Doctor gets stuck  on (translated from Swedish: Enhetsstatus) Unit status.

When I print via HP Smart Print I can print, but for example a picture is aligned wrong. In HP Smart Print I can't either  print double sided.

Hi @skolaz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a few issues with your printer after switching from HP's Instant Ink cartridges to third-party cartridges from InkClub. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problems:

Check Printer Compatibility: Ensure that the third-party cartridges you purchased are fully compatible with your specific HP printer model. Compatibility details are usually available on the cartridge packaging or the retailer’s website.

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer can help resolve recognition issues with new cartridges. Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any errors and force the printer to recheck the cartridges.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Dirty or smeared contacts on the cartridges or inside the printer can cause detection problems. Carefully clean the metal contacts on the cartridges and the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge installs, using a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer from the HP website. Updates can fix bugs and compatibility issues with third-party cartridges.

Adjust Printer Settings: Since you mentioned that prints are misaligned and you can't print double-sided in HP Smart Print, it’s possible the printer settings need adjustment:

  • For alignment, you can usually find an option to calibrate or align the printer cartridges in the printer’s maintenance menu.
  • For double-sided printing, the setting might not be available in HP Smart Print, so you might need to use the regular printer settings dialog on your computer. You can typically access these settings by going to the print menu in the document or image you are trying to print, and then looking for 'Printer Properties' or 'Printing Preferences'.

Reinstall Printer Drivers: If the HP Print and Scan Doctor is getting stuck, there might be an issue with the printer drivers. Try uninstalling the printer from your computer and then reinstalling it. Download the latest drivers from HP’s official website for your specific model.

Check for Software Conflicts: If you recently installed or updated software related to the printer, it might be causing conflicts. Consider rolling back recent updates or reinstalling the software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
