New black cartridges not printing

HP Office Jet Pro 6970

I changed the black cartridge with a new 920XL and now it won't print any black ink. The ink level indicator is 100%. Also, two of the color cartridges say 0% ink even though they were just changed and yet they print all colors on the test page. I changed the black cartridge to a second new one and it does the same thing. I have cleaned the cartridges according to the guide multiple times and have aligned (which is not possible since it only prints the color blocks) and did the ink smear test. I even checked to see if any blockage in vent. Nothing has worked so far.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
