New printer HP envy pro 6432 error message cartridge problem,

I have just set up my new printer. Managed to print one document. Second one which has a lot of colour got stuck half way through page 4. I had to pull the paper out. 

Now I'm getting a message on HPSmart app that there is a Cartridge Problem - The indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with with the printer. if this problem persists replaces the cartridges.

the actual printer is flashing E and 0 and there is an amber flashing light.

I have signed up to instant ink but don't expect my new cartridges to arrive for several days.

I've tried  taking the cartridges out and then putting them back.

Have I just run out of coloured ink and will have to wait?
