HP DeskJet 4175e All-in-One Printer

My printer is brand new out of the box. I set everything up according to instructions. It's an HP deskJet 4100 and I'm using an HP laptop to set it up using Microsoft Windows edge. It printed my page for the alignment process, but when I tried to copy that page a orange light came on saying my color cartridge was empty. I tried turning everything off and starting over. I ran checks on my laptop and all systems are working. How do I fix this issue? Or is the brand new ink cartridge likely empty?

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer's front panel.
  • Remove the color ink cartridge and reinstall it properly, making sure it's securely in place.

Inspect Cartridge for Protective Tape:

  • Make sure the protective tape has been removed from the cartridge. If not, remove the tape from the cartridge carefully.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.

Check Ink Levels:

  • On your laptop, open the HP Smart app (if installed) .
  • Check the ink levels to see if the color cartridge shows as empty or low.

Perform a Printer Test:

  • On your printer, print a Test Page or Print Quality Diagnostic Report to check if the ink cartridge is functioning correctly.

Try Another Cartridge (if possible):

  • If you have another ink cartridge (or can get one), try swapping it out to see if the issue persists.
