HP Smart Tank 7006 All-in-One

Have just purchased a new smart tank 7006. However it is taking over 15 minutes to print a 7 page document. This isn't normal surely?

Hi @Ellie20202 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand It’s definitely not normal for a new printer like the HP Smart Tank 7006 to take that long to print a 7-page document.

Here are a few things you can check to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Print Quality Settings: Ensure that the print quality is set to a standard mode rather than a high-quality mode, which can slow down printing. You can adjust this in the print settings on your computer.
  • Driver Updates: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Connection Type: If you're using a wireless connection, check the signal strength. A weak connection can slow down printing. If possible, try connecting the printer directly via USB to see if that improves the speed.
  • Printer Queue: Check if there are any jobs stuck in the print queue that might be causing delays. Clear the queue if necessary.
  • Printer Firmware: Ensure that the printer firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Document Format: Sometimes, the format of the document can impact printing speed. If you’re printing from a complex file type (like certain PDFs), try converting it to a simpler format or printing a different type of document to see if the speed improves.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both your printer and your computer can resolve performance issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
