HP OfficeJet Pro 8728 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I use the printer to print birthday/Xmas cards and have always used double sided 250g card as this is the heaviest paper that the printer will accept.

Now the printer will only accept 160g or 120g card.  It will accept 200g HP photo paper and  another brand 290g photo paper, but whilst they claim to be that weight, they feel a lot more flimsy than the equivalent card, so maybe that is why they print without problem.

I have followed all the advice on the HP webpages, reset to factory, use the thick card setting but to no avail.

I have tried different card  - I bought some 230g card today and that won't work either. And, the alleged 290g duo photo is not on sale now.

Sometimes the card get stuck in the rollers, which I can understand as that would appear to be too thick, but often the printer whirrs away and the card is ejected with no printing - but with black roller marks (I have tried to clean the roller, but will have to give it another go)

It is very frustrating as it used to work fine with 250g card.

Any ideas?
