Hi @Ijarm,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6020e printer is not showing the expected purple light when switched on, it indicates there might be an issue with the printer's startup process or its internal components. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Check Power Supply

Power Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to a working power outlet. Sometimes, a loose or faulty power connection can prevent the printer from powering on correctly.

Power Adapter: Verify that the power adapter is securely connected to the printer and the wall outlet. Try using a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the outlet itself.

2. Restart the Printer

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds. Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve startup issues.

3. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Internal Obstructions: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Clear any debris that might be blocking the printer's internal components.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Factory Reset: If the printer powers on but does not function correctly, you can try performing a factory reset. Refer to the printer's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset it to factory settings.

5. Inspect the Control Panel

  • Error Messages: Look at the printer's control panel for any error messages or blinking lights that might indicate a specific issue. Refer to the printer’s user manual for explanations of different error codes and lights.

6. Firmware Update

  • Firmware Check: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. If the printer can power on but does not show the purple light, connect it to your computer and use the HP Smart app or HP's website to check for firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
