My printer kept saying it was offline. I removed it now it wants me to put the w PS pen for my printer which I don't think I even have no more because of moving. I pay for a service from you guys I have a subscription. I have legal work I have to get printed off and I have court in 2 days. I'm trying to get my printer to work again.

Hi @DravenFrost

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m truly sorry you’re facing this right now—especially with something as urgent as legal work and a court date approaching. When a printer suddenly goes offline and asks for setup tools you no longer have, it can feel overwhelming.

Let’s walk through a few steps to get your printer reconnected and printing again as quickly as possible.

Step-by-step to reconnect your printer without the WPS pin

1. Use the HP App to reconnect without WPS

Even if you don’t have the WPS pin, you can still set up your printer using the HP App:

  • Download the HP App for Windows if it’s not already installed.
  • Open the app and click Set up a new printer.
  • Choose Wi-Fi setup without WPS.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.

2. Reset the printer’s network settings

  • On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  • This resets the network settings and puts the printer into setup mode.
  • The wireless light should start blinking.

3. Check your subscription status

If you’re using Instant Ink or another service:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the internet so it can validate the subscription.
  • Open the HP App > select your printer > Supplies Status to confirm.

4. Print a test page

Once connected:

  • Open any document and press Ctrl + P.
  • Select your printer and click Print.
  • If it prints successfully, you’re ready to go.

Let me know your printer model if you’d like tailored steps or help with the HP App setup. You’re doing everything right by acting quickly and staying focused—let’s get those documents printed and ready.
