I am only getting part of a page on my printout.  i did unplug and entered it into another wall not using a power strip.  I was also told to restart the printer to clear certain error states. How do I do this?

Hi @Ma904,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To restart your HP printer, follow these steps.

  • Turn off the printer: Locate the power button on your HP printer and press it to turn off the device. Wait for a few seconds to ensure it completely powers down.
  • Unplug the power cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer. Also, if your printer is connected to a power strip, make sure to unplug it from there as well.
  • Wait for a while: Leave the printer unplugged for about 1-2 minutes. This allows any residual power to dissipate from the printer.
  • Plug it back in: After waiting, plug the power cord back into the printer and also connect it to a power source directly, avoiding power strips or extensions if possible.
  • Turn on the printer: Press the power button again to turn on your HP printer. Wait for it to initialize and become ready.

Once you've completed these steps, try printing a test page to see if the issue persists. If you're still encountering problems with partial page printouts, there may be additional troubleshooting steps needed, such as adjusting print settings or checking for any paper jams or other mechanical issues within the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
