Hi @jftoth1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro M1132 Multifunction Printer is printing text files but not images, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the printer settings are configured correctly to allow printing of images. Sometimes, printers have settings that allow them to print text only to conserve ink or toner. Check the printer properties on your computer to make sure it's not set to text-only mode.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause printing problems. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP LaserJet Pro M1132 printer. You can download and install the latest drivers from the HP website or use the software provided with the printer.
- Check Image File Format: Make sure the image file you're trying to print is in a format supported by the printer. Most printers support common image formats like JPEG, PNG, and BMP. If the image file is in an unsupported format, try converting it to a different format before printing.
- Check Image Resolution: Low-resolution images may not print correctly or may appear pixelated. Make sure the resolution of the image is appropriate for printing. For best results, use high-resolution images (at least 300 DPI) for printing.
- Print a Test Page: Print a test page containing both text and images to see if the issue persists. If the printer successfully prints text but not images on the test page, it's likely a printer configuration or driver issue.
- Check Ink or Toner Levels: Low ink or toner levels can affect print quality, including the printing of images. Check the ink or toner levels on your printer and replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
- Clean Printer Heads: If the printer has not been used for a while or if print quality is poor, cleaning the printer heads may help. Most printers have a built-in cleaning function that you can access through the printer settings menu.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and the computer can resolve printing issues. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Also, restart your computer and try printing again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
