Hi @CatWil,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer's LED is flashing orange and it's not printing, there could be several reasons behind this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Printer Status: Sometimes, the printer might be out of paper, have a paper jam, or an ink cartridge issue. Make sure there are no error messages on the printer's display.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can often resolve temporary issues.
  • Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, make sure it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the signal is strong.
  • Update Drivers: Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, causing subsequent jobs to fail. Open the print queue on your computer and clear any pending jobs.
  • Check Ink Levels: If you're using an inkjet printer, check the ink levels in the cartridges. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
  • Reset Printer: Many HP printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Try resetting your printer to its factory defaults and then reconfigure it.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: HP occasionally releases firmware updates for their printers to fix bugs and improve performance. Check for updates and install them if available.
  • Printer Maintenance: Perform any recommended maintenance tasks for your printer, such as cleaning the print heads or rollers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
