@Naren23, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing an orange (amber) light glowing on your HP DeskJet 2700 printer, and your initial troubleshooting steps (unplugging the router and power supply) didn’t resolve the issue. Let’s walk through the best steps to identify and fix this.

The orange light (Ink Alert light) typically indicates one of the following:

  • One or both ink cartridges are low, empty, incompatible, or not installed correctly.
  • There may be a cartridge error (e.g., dirty contacts, counterfeit, or damaged cartridge).

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Check the Control Panel Icons

Look at the printer’s control panel:

  • If the Ink Level icons and Error icon are blinking along with the orange light, it confirms a cartridge issue.

Reseat the Ink Cartridges

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Remove both cartridges.
  4. Gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  5. Reinsert the cartridges firmly and close the door.

Check Cartridge Compatibility

Ensure you're using genuine HP 67 or 67XL cartridges (or the correct regional equivalent). If you're using refilled or third-party cartridges, try replacing them with genuine HP ones.

Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer ON, unplug the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  4. Turn the printer back on.

Update Firmware (if issue persists)

Sometimes, firmware updates resolve cartridge detection issues:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
