Office jet pro 8025. Never could get connected to PC or laptop without ethernet cable (i.e. wireless.) But now there is no response when I click 'Print,' but the touch display just says 'Printer Error.' Why does it not give an error number or location? If the 8025 knows there is an error, it must know where the error is. I find it aggravating that HP obfuscates the error message so I cannot fix it or get it fixed.  Is there any help from those of you who know about these printing errors without names or numbers??  If so, thanks from those of us who will never understand this printer.

@Johnvan13, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 is displaying a "Printer Error" without providing specific error codes or messages, the issue could be related to several factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

Check Connection Type:

  • Ensure that all connections whether, wired or wireless, are secured properly. Since you've had issues with the wireless connection, try to reconnect to the network.
  • If you are using an Ethernet cable, ensure it is firmly connected to both the printer and the router.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Check for Updates:

  • Make sure the printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP website and checking for any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer isn't in an error state such as being out of paper, having a paper jam, or low ink levels. Check the printer's display for any additional instructions.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings:

  • If the wireless printer setup was not completed or failed, try reconfiguring the wireless setup using the printer control panel or HP Smart App on your PC.

Review Printer Queue:

  • On your PC, check the printer queue to ensure there are no stuck print jobs, as these can cause the printer to appear unresponsive. Clear the queue and try to print a test page.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
