The screen is blue with error number 04364661 and all the buttons are blinking.

Then opened the printer to check the ink cartridge but it didn’t move anymore.

When closed back the screen changed error to 04358A98

This all started when I was changing ink cartridges.

Resolving Error Codes on HP OfficeJet Pro 8024

When encountering error codes like 04364661 and 04358A98 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8024, accompanied by blinking buttons, it generally indicates an issue with the printer's hardware or ink cartridges. Follow these steps to address the problem:

1. Perform a Soft Reset

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for approximately 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

2. Verify Ink Cartridge Installation

  • Make sure that all ink cartridges are installed correctly in their respective slots.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly seated and that protective tapes have been removed.

3. Check for Obstructions

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and check for any obstructions inside the carriage path.
  • Gently remove any paper or debris that might be causing the carriage to jam.

4. Reinstall Ink Cartridges

  • With the printer on, open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center.
  • Gently but firmly press down the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly secured.
  • Close the access door.

5. Update Firmware

  • Check for any available firmware updates by visiting the HP Support website. This can resolve potential issues caused by outdated software.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
