I am attempting to replace a nearly empty 950XL cartridge with a genuine HP replacement.  I replaced all the color cartridges (951) and they worked fine, but when I go to replace the black ink cartridge (950), my printer won't recognize it.  I have been through all the diagnostics, firmware update (it was already up to date), power down reset, clean the contacts on the cartridge, but still won't work.  The old cartridge is a CN045AN and so is the new one.

I need to get a warranty replacement, but the HP support menus are so byzantine that I can't figure out how to interact with a human agent to make a warranty claim.  The cartridge says "Warranty ends: 2022/01", so clearly within the warranty period.

How do I get a warranty replacement for my 950XL print cartridge?

Please help!

@jcontardi, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
