HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer

Hello!

I have done all of the maintenance options on my printer (ink levels, cleaning, alignment, print test, etc), but it still isn't working. The paper moves through like it's working, but nothing is on the page. And it squeaks as it "prints." The print test also doesn't produce anything. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

@zzcc, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e is feeding paper correctly but printing completely blank pages, even during test prints, and is making a squeaking noise. Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:

Check Ink Levels and Cartridges

  • Even if ink levels appear fine, remove and reseat all cartridges.
  • Make sure you're using genuine HP ink cartridges.
  • If any cartridge is low or empty, replace it.

Clean the Printhead

If the test page is blank, the printhead may be clogged.

  • On the printer touchscreen:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
    • Run the cleaning cycle up to 3 times if needed.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause printing issues.

Check for Hardware Issues

Since you mentioned a squeaking noise, it could indicate a mechanical issue:

  • Open the printer and inspect for any obstructions or loose parts.
  • Gently clean the paper path and rollers.

Run HP Print Diagnostic Tools

Use the HP Smart app to automatically detect and fix issues.

Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

Try a Hard Reset

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
