This printer always sporadically - maybe once every second month - crashed, in a manner where all lights are blinking and the screen is all white. It can be restarted and works again.

But the last couple of days it is doing this about every 10 minutes or so. Possibly after one or two ink cartridges were changed.

How can this be fixed. Is it necessary to try with other cartridges, and potentially throw out a brand new one, or what can be done?

Thanks.

I found the answer.  I was a little suspect about the ‘secret’ buttons on the screen but this factory reboot totally worked.

The Power light blinks at a steady interval when the printer is processing a print job. If the Power light blinks fast, the ink cartridge door might be open, or the printer might be in an error state. If an error message displays on the computer screen, follow the on-screen messages to resolve the issue.

All lights blink and the screen is completely white. It is crashed, and only two things are possible: restart by holding power button, or power-cycle by removing and replacing cable.

So it is a serious crash after only a few minutes turned on. No printing or any activity. It just crashed by itself a few minutes after being turned on.

I have had the exact same issue.  The printer will suddenly have a completely white screen and all the lights are blinking. It used to happen once or twice a week, but now it happens within an hour (or less) of restarting.

Nothing can be done.

I have to restart by holding down the power button for quite a few seconds or unplug to restart.

Nothing seems to trigger it.  I was just sitting and typing an email.  I hadn't used the printer in at least an hour and then I saw it happen.

Other info: No error code appears.  I have genuine HP cartridges in there.

Looks like a more or less common issue then - exactly the same symptoms. Although my impression is more like 10 minutes than an hour. But I haven't had the patience to watch it with a stopwatch 🙂

I wonder if this is some sort of planned obsolesce?

HP or other experts: can anybody help here?

Same exact issue just started occurring about a week ago.  Maybe an update gone wrong.

I am having the same issue, started a little over a week ago.  Is there anyway to tell if any updates were applied?

HP Recommended

I have only applied updates manually before. I am/was not aware of any automatic updating, but I suppose it is possible.

Did anybody change ink cartridges just before this started? (I did).

This problem is really, really annoying (are you listening, HP?). Maybe I will have to try a factory reset, and see if that helps.

I'm having the same issue.  Frustrating.  Has anyone figured out a solution?  Any response from HP?

Same issue but occasionally error code B83COE74 appears
