Hello,
I have an HP Officejet 4650 on wifi. A few weeks ago, it started randomly waking up, every 15 to 30 minutes. I have assigned a static IP, changed the sleep timer, force it to sleep with the power button, and reset to factory default. Any other suggestions?
Thank you in advance

Hi @SparkyJimbo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet 4650 is randomly waking up, even after you've taken several troubleshooting steps, here are a few more suggestions to help resolve the issue:
Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve performance. You can check for updates via the printer's control panel or by visiting HP's support website.
Check Printer Settings: Verify that the "Wake on LAN" setting is disabled. This setting allows the printer to wake up when it receives network traffic. You can typically find this setting in the network configuration menu.
Check for Scheduled Tasks: Make sure there are no scheduled tasks or maintenance routines set up on the printer that could be causing it to wake up periodically.
Disable HP Web Services: If you have HP Web Services (like ePrint) enabled, try disabling them. Sometimes, these services can cause the printer to wake up intermittently.
Check Network Traffic: Monitor your network traffic to see if any devices are sending requests to the printer, causing it to wake up. Sometimes, other devices on the network might ping the printer, causing it to wake.
Power Settings: Double-check the power settings on the printer. Ensure that any settings related to sleep mode or auto-off are configured correctly.
Isolate the Printer: Connect the printer to a different network or directly to your computer via USB to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is related to your network.
Router Settings: Inspect your router's settings. Sometimes, routers can have settings that may inadvertently wake network devices. Look for options related to network device management or scheduled tasks on your router.
Security Settings: Ensure your network is secure and no unauthorized devices are accessing it. An unsecured network can lead to devices being pinged or accessed without your knowledge.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
