HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer

My OfficeJet printer had been kept in a storage unit for the past two years or so. After bringing it to my new apartment, I ran an alignment and it failed. I tried running the 'clean cartridge heads' function multiple times with no success. On top of that, when the Quality Diagnostic page would print, the three color blocks would look superb. That's when I noticed the black ink just wasn't being used (without any 'black ink low warnings.') I gave it one last test print of a color picture and all of the colors seemed faded so I thought maybe it's just a malfunctioning black ink cartridge or something.

Eventually I picked up an HP black ink 62 cartridge and tossed that in the machine... Now it doesn't print in anything but black and white despite double checking on both, the printer's interface as well as the computer I'm printing from, that all color settings were set to printing in full color. Not to mention, that it still is failing the alignment test.

I've double checked all printer drivers on my computer are functioning properly, I've tried using multiple computers, I've tried restoring the printer to factory default and have had no luck. If anyone can help figure this out, please help!

Thanks!
