HP OJ 7612
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I used my printer for a long time now without any issues. But yesterday I installed Fresh Windows 10 and had to install the Device Drivers and software.

But now the device is not pairing with my computer. I installed the HP OJ 7610 software and tried installing my printer.p1.png

P2.png

P3.png

It says successful andI can reach the last window (Do your Part), but after I hit next nothing happens and the software shuts down.

When I try to open HP 7612 software again it prompts me to pair the printer again from first steps. My printer is in Wifi mode, I have tried pairing with LAN wire mode too, but the result is the same.

The printer is added on my Devices and Printers settings and I have checked the correct driver is also installed.

As the printer is listed on my Devices and Printers, the Windows built in Scan feature can scan documents but the HP software is what is creating problems. And I can access it and use it from my browser using the IP adress.

Please give me a proper solution on what should I do ?

@JaberH, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

If you want the full-featured software as before, perform a clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
  2.  Select your HP Printer
  3.  Select Uninstall
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
  10.  Select Ok
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try printing.

@JaberH

Did you try using the HP Smart app?

If the printer is connected to the same wireless network as the PC, let us install the printer using its IP address.

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing in color.

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

Let me know how this goes.
