Officejet 8100 printer cartridge issue

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My printer keeps showing need to replace black cartridge, when a insert a new one it keeping advising empty. The white dot K keeps flashing and will not print. I have no connection issues with my laptop, the message says there is a problem with the printer or the ink system.

Tried scan doctor just comes up with the same message
